Looking for an advent calendar that doesn’t involve candy or prizes? Yeah, so was I! Here’s a simple countdown to the Christmas advent calendar that you can put together with just a few items from Amazon.
Supplies needed:
- Magnetic Chalkboard, mine is 24″ x 26″
- Chalk
- Magnets
- Sharpie Permanent Markers
- Wooden Tree Slices
Set up your chalkboard
Draw a simple tree shape with chalk on your chalkboard. Using a hot glue gun, attach 25 magnets to the back of your chalkboard within that tree shape. I found it helpful to preplan where I wanted my tree slices to go, and then add the magnets accordingly.
Make your wooden tree slice numbers
Number your wooden tree slices from 1 to 25 with a sharpie permanent marker. Using your hot glue gun again, attach 25 magnets to the backs of your tree slices.
Let the countdown begin
Your kids will be so excited to wake up each morning and add number to the tree. We like to start at the bottom of the tree and work our way to the tippy top. It’s such a fun, festive way to countdown to Christmas day!
