How to strip furniture the easy, green way

I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of people using the oven cleaner method to strip furniture lately. If you have, then you know there’s been a lot of backlash about how toxic it is to use. If you are looking for a safer alternative to the oven cleaner method, then this product is it! It works just as well stripping furniture, except without the harsh chemicals. I’ll break down the process for you on this cute little vintage stool I found.

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO STRIP FURNITURE:

THE PROCESS FOR STRIPPING FURNITURE:

This process for stripping furniture is incredibly easy! We’re going to start by spraying down your piece with the GreenEZ Finishing Cleaner. You can follow the mixing instructions on the bottle. Also be sure to get the GreenEZ “Finishing Cleaner” and NOT the “Furniture Stripper.”

Once your furniture piece is heavily covered with the GreenEZ Finishing Cleaner, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.

Now that the product has had some time to soak in, take some soapy water and scrub the wood with your scrub brush. Use a garden hose to rinse everything off.

Lastly, the hardest part… waiting for it to dry! Really try to give it a chance to dry completely and repeat the process if necessary. Once you are happy with your results, give it a light sand and you’re done!

THE RESULTS OF THE EASY, GREEN WAY TO STRIP FURNITURE

Have you tried the oven cleaner method? I really think you will have equally successful results with the GreenEZ Finishing Cleaner if you’re willing to give it a try. I hope you do!
