DIY Candlestick Holder

I fell in love with this DIY Candlestick Holder from the Liz Marie Blog. I just knew it would make the perfect centerpiece for our Thanksgiving table. And when I found a 4×4 scrap piece of barnwood in our garage, it was meant to be.

I followed Liz’s instructions exactly, except our 4×4 post was a tad bit smaller. I used the same amount of holes and the same placement, except our 4×4 post was 48” in length instead of 52” in length. This is what our measurements and hole placements looked like.

I marked the center drill point and used a stepper drill bit to make the holes. I did not mark the size of the holes—I just drilled a little, tested a candle in place, and then drilled the hole larger if it was necessary.

I highly recommend using a stepper drill bit. I had no issues with candles falling over. I also recommend heating the bottom of the candle before placing them into the candle holder like Liz suggested. They molded right into the tapered hole.

This was such a quick and easy project and it makes a huge statement! Where would you use a centerpiece like this?
