Outdoor Dining Area Refresh

Have you been affected by production and shipping delays this year? Boy did we pick the wrong year to try and order outdoor furniture! We waited 2 long years to finally commit to furnishing our stamped concrete patio space. When I found out that our outdoor lounge furniture wouldn’t be delivered until next year, I decided to refresh our outdoor dining area to hold me over for the time being. The challenge… finding everything available, in stock, and ready to ship.

OUTDOOR DINING AREA MOOD BOARD

Here is a little breakdown of what I planned for the space. My goal is to be able to still use everything once the lounge furniture arrives next year. Using a smaller 4-seat dining set should allow ample room to have a dining space as well as a lounge area.

THE LANTERNS

Ever since we built this pergola, I’ve been dreaming of hanging lanterns on it. The lanterns I used are the Torared Pendant Lampshades from Ikea and they are a great alternative to a more expensive Serena & Lily ones. I used an outdoor pendant light with a rope cord to hang the lanterns from the pergola.

THE OUTDOOR TABLE AND CHAIRS

I was fortunate enough to find this round black outdoor table from Target at the end of the season. It’s definitely a great time to check out the outdoor clearance section! I decided against getting the matching chairs from Target and switched it up with the beautiful Aeri dining chairs from Article! The best part is they are currently in stock, ready to ship, and not to mention, super comfortable. They even look great with or without the cushions.

THE LONG-TERM PLAN

The long-term plan out here will be to add a lounge area under the pergola (if our lounge furniture ever arrives). The entire dining set up will move over, between the pergola and the fire pit area. I’m excited to see it all come together, especially after waiting 2 long years to do it right!
