Living Room Refresh

It’s not even January yet and I’m ready for a fresh start in our living room. I’m looking to make some simple changes to spruce up the space and make it more in line with some design trends that I am currently drawn to. Amber Interiors has always been such an inspiration to me and I find myself completely captivated by her style. With that said, I’m going for an Amber Interiors look on a Target budget!

THE PAINT

You’ve probably heard it a million times, but it continues to amaze me how paint alone can completely transform a space. Our ceilings and trim work are painted in Sherwin Williams Alabaster, so I will be using the same color for our walls. Believe it or not, the entire interior of our home was white when we moved in 5 years ago. I painted all the walls gray (Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray) and now I’m going back to the same white color they were when we moved in 5 years ago!

THE FURNITURE

Our family is not ready to invest in a new sofa just yet, so I will be working around our current one. I found a rug that will work perfectly with our dark taupe-colored sofa.

The sofa may be staying, but the ottoman is going! I’ve never had a coffee table and I am so excited to finally make it happen. I am planning to DIY this coffee table from Amber Interiors.

THE DÉCOR

This entire living room plan started out as “I think it’s time for a new rug.” The new rug has now led to new paint, new curtains, new artwork, new pillows, etc. Isn’t it funny how that happens? I’ll be working on a few DIY projects in this space, including a great DIY canvas art project, so stay tuned!

What do you think of the new plans for the living room? I’ve got lots of great ideas for this space and I can’t wait to share them with you.

    1. Aw thank you Krystal! Unfortunately we purchased it almost 10 year ago now from a local furniture store and I don’t have link for it. So sorry about that!
