We’re in the home stretch here at week 7 of the One Room Challenge. I cannot wait to see the other ORC participants’ final reveals next week. There are a few projects I’ve been following closely and they’re going to be so GOOD.
THIS WEEK
I’ve been working on a few finishing touches this week. It’s been extra challenging to finish a room without being able to shop in an actual store (aka I miss Home Goods!). Our area is just starting to open some retail stores now.
I’ve had a bit of a rug debacle going on this week. I ordered a rug that I’m just not feeling for the room. Now I’m scrambling to find a good replacement, so we’ll see if I can pull it all together by next week.
DIY VINTAGE BOOK ART
I worked on some more DIY artwork for our son’s dinosaur bedroom this week. There was previously a gallery wall here when this room was a nursery. I am using the existing gallery wall and just updating the artwork. I’m going for a vintage book illustration look (with dinosaurs, of course).
It’s a pretty simple process to create vintage book art— here is how I did it:
- Gather some printables such as digital downloads, clip art, illustration, etc.
- Get yourself some newsprint paper
- Print on your home printer or at any office supply store
And there you have it— some simple prints that look like they’ve been ripped right out of an old book.
As always, you can view all of the other ORC projects here. I will share what I can on my Instagram feed and in stories this week, but I don’t want to give away too much. You’ll have to stay tuned for the final reveal next week!

Thank you Heather-Scherie! Just one more week!!
Can you link where you downloaded the art for the gallery wall? I never knew that type of paper existed.
Thanks so much for sharing.
