Modern Vintage Boys Bedroom – One Room Challenge – Week 2

As I mentioned in week 1, my son requested a dinosaur room. And a dinosaur room is what he will get, except with a modern vintage vibe. We will be removing everything from the current room. Luckily, there is no major construction work required for this project. It will purely be a cosmetic update— so just paint, furniture, and décor. I do have a lot of great DIY projects planned though, so stay tuned.

INSPIRATION

Right here are my two main sources of inspiration for the room.

Source: Annabode
Source: BrePurposed

Seriously, how great is that bed from Annabode? And that wall color and treatment from BrePurposed— in love! The overall colors and aesthetics of these two rooms are exactly the vibe I am looking for.

MOOD BOARD

This is the mood board I’ve put together for the space. I am fully armed and ready with paint samples. I’ve decided against just doing a feature wall, and I will be painting the entire room green. Picking just the right color green will be challenging.

I already feel a step ahead because I’ve had the perfect antique brass bed frame sitting in our basement for months. It will just need a bit of work to clean it up and get it ready.

Like I mentioned, I do have a lot of great DIY projects planned for this room that I’ll be starting on soon. I’ll be sharing my progress on my Instagram feed and in stories, so you can follow along there as well. And be sure to check out the other ORC participants and their projects here.
